The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) was established by the Ministry of Human Resource Development in September 2015. This framework outlines a methodology to rank institutions across the country according to parameters covering: Teaching, Learning and Resources; Research and Professional Practice; Graduation Outcomes; Outreach and Inclusivity; and Perception.
The first rankings were announced by the MHRD on April 4th, 2016.
The ‘India Ranking Report 2016’ of the country’s government and private institution was prepared according to the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF). The framework has outlined a methodology to identify the broad parameters for ranking institutions under “teaching, learning and resources (TLR)”, “research and professional practices (RPC)”, “graduation outcomes (GO)”, “outreach and inclusivity (OI)” and “perception”.
